ABOUT ME

Greetings!

I’m Marissa. I’m also Riss!

I’m a singer, actress, musician & journalist, currently based out of New Jersey. Proudly born and raised in the birthplace of Rock n’ Roll, Cleveland, Ohio, where my father essentially grew me up on Blondie & Benatar.

After a 2015 matinee viewing of Wicked, upon sobbing during the overture (despite not fully being able to contextualize why), I decided to set out to pursue the type of playing pretend that the green girl did indefinitely!

I’ve been so graciously able to perform at events/venues such as The United Nations Headquarters (NYC) for the Rhythms of One World Choral Festival, The Today Show, Fiensteins 54 Below & Playhouse Square. I have also collaborated chorally with the Canadian Tenors & Broadway's Seth Rudetsky at the WGA Strike in NYC. Notable theatrical venues include The Cleveland Playhouse, The Beck Center for the Arts, Broadway Theatre of Pitman, and over 15 different community theaters in the Northeast Ohio & New Jersey area.

I happen to currently be a student enrolled at Rider University, studying Musical Theatre & Journalism with a concentration in Broadcast. Serving as the creator and host of my very own radio talk show, “Rockin’ with Riss!” RWR airs weekly on Sundays at 3 pm EST. Listeners can tune in on 107.7 The Bronc and 107.7TheBronc.com to experience my jams and deep dives into all genres!

When not performing, I can be found on any hiking trail within a 15-mile radius of my current whereabouts, scouring the flea market for antiquities, or catching a rock concert. An avid fan girl of every genre, whether it’s Slipknot or Sinatra, I’m down to mosh!
